Mosier: A land of Anticlines & Synclines

April 11, 2020

Basalt, a grey sometimes porous volcanic rock will be the foundation for our custom home build in Mosier. Many moons ago the Columbia River Basalt (CRBG) eruptions created folding and faulting of the basalt in the western part of the Columbia Basin. This folding articulated anticlines (ridges) and synclines (valleys). We will be looking to this folding of the Basalt for inspiration in our building design in response the amazing geology of the Columbia Gorge.
